Poetry

Go home snow bird, go home
The sun is getting hot
We are weary of your lot
Go home snow bird, go home

Go home snow bird, go home
You are slow on the road
Your RV a big load
Go home snow bird, go home

Go home snow bird, go home
Don't come back next fall
You would not be missed at all
Go home snow bird, go home

  3. A lot of my friends are snow birds, and I don't think they are going to like this one bit.

  5. If you don't spend the summer here, you have not earned the right to spend the winter here. One week visit max.

  6. How about a $2.00 per gallon tax on snowbirds to help pay for the highway they destroy after using it all winter.

  7. Sorry liberal, we are not interested in raising taxes, well maybe just on those who voted in the tax raisers. I would like to see some locals only check out lanes in the grocery store. And maybe RV traffic limited to 2 hours a week, say like from 3:00 - 5:00 am on Wednesdays.

  9. No, we stay here most of the year, usually get away for August to visit family around Ely, and stay along the Lake Superior shore. We have stayed at the Gunderson cabins every summer for the last 37 years.

But I do have a lot of snow birds that live in our gated community.

  13. George, we used to stay at Gunderson's cabins when I was young. Nice place right along Lake Superior up past Tofte if I remember right. I could spend all of August up along the north shore of Superior.
